Frequently Asked Questions

How Does Home Delivery Work?

We do Home Deliveries to Peterborough, Oshawa, Lindsay and Bobcaygeon on the dates listed on the ‘How it Works’ page – just choose a Home Delivery option when checking out. The time of delivery will be communicated to you after placing your order and will, generally, be in the evening.

Your order will arrive frozen – If no one will be home, please leave a cooler or box out for the meat to go in (with ice, ideally).  Our delivery driver can follow instructions, so please send us a note about where you would like it left.

Home Deliveries will not be left unless payment has been received.

How Does Pick Up at a Hub Work?

We offer pick up at Hubs in Peterborough, Oshawa, Lindsay and Bobcaygeon on the dates and times listed on the ‘How it Works’ page – just choose a Pick Up Hub option when checking out. A Hub is simply a place where we will meet you with your order – typically a driveway or a parking lot.

Meet us there at your scheduled date and time and we will load your order into your vehicle.  Payment must also be finalized at this time if not already done.  Please bring your invoice with you.

How Does Pick up at a Farmer’s Market Work?

Order online and Pick Up any week between June and October. Choose one of the Farm Market locations when checking out.  On your pick up date, come find the Three Forks Farm booth at your local market to pick up your order.

Orders must be placed at least 24 hours in advance.

How Does Pick Up at The Farm Work?

Place an order online and indicate in the ‘notes’ section of your order an ideal date and time for you to pick up and we’ll confirm it with you. Generally speaking, we are open for pick up Monday to Friday from 8:00AM – 6:00PM but please call or email in advance.

Is there an Minimum Order Amount?

Yes – we require a minimum order size of $35 for Home Deliveries and Hub Pick Ups. No minimums for picking up at The Farm or Farm Markets.

Is There an Order Deadline?

Yes – 48 hours in advance of the scheduled delivery date. We will send you a reminder email one week before.

Can I Modify My Order?

Yes – Please have all modifications done 48 hours in advance of your scheduled delivery date. You can do this through your account.

Is There a Delivery Fee?

Yes – We charge a nominal fee for Home Deliveries and Hub Pick Ups to cover the cost of labor and fuel. There is no fee for Pick Up at the Farm or Farm Markets.

Can a Friend Pick up for Me?

Yes – As long as payment can be made before or upon pick up. Just ask them to bring your invoice or be able to show it on a phone.

How is my Order Packaged?

Your order items will arrive individually packaged and frozen, all contained in a box or bag.

Should I Bring Anything With Me When I Pick Up?

Please bring your invoice (paper or on a phone), payment if not already done (cash/ credit card only) and something to keep your meat cold in.

Ordering Policies

What you need to know

Order Totals are Estimated

Most of our items are priced by the pound and the price you see in our e-store is estimated. After you place your order, your total will be adjusted slightly up or down when we pack your box and you will be emailed a final invoice that can be paid before or upon delivery.

Payment is Required Before or Upon Delivery

We accept all major credit cards through our e-store and cash or credit card in person. To reduce liabilities for us, we do not allow payments to be made after delivery.

We Reserve the Right to Cancel or Modify Orders

Three Forks Farm is a relatively small operation and is run by a very small team of farmers. Please recognize that we sometimes run out of products depending on the season and we may need to cancel or modify your order if stock is short.

We also reserve the right to limit quantities sold to ensure that everyone has access to our products for as long as possible.  For example, Bacon is popular yet is limited in supply and we may ask you to share the bounty with other customers by reducing large orders   We will notify you of any change to your order and your total will be adjusted accordingly.

Order Cancellations or Missed Deliveries / Pick ups

If you need to cancel your order, please do so no later than 48 Hours in advance of your scheduled delivery time. If you’ve already paid, we will issue a refund.

We recognize that life gets busy and appointments are sometimes forgotten.  If you miss a Hub or Farmer’s Market Pick up or a Home Delivery (or don’t provide a drop-off box), we will return to the farm with your order.  We will hold the order for 3 days for you to contact us and schedule a time to pick up at the Farm.  After 3 days, the items will be re-stocked and your order will be cancelled.

Routine cancellations or missed deliveries will result in cancellation of our service to you.
